Perfect for birthdays, anniversaries and everything in between, this Three Color Buttercream Rosette is a quick and easy project for decorators of all skill levels.
Steps To Follow
For best results, follow recipe and read the instructions (including Tips) from beginning to end.
Step 1
Bake cake – use favorite recipe. Bake three of 6-inch or 8-inch, or 9-inch cakes.
Prepare cake batter following recipe instructions. Bake and cool cake in pan for about 10 minutes then place on cake racks to completely cool.
Optional: Prepare flower toppings in advance. (Optional)
Step 2
Trim and crumb coat cakes and place in the fridge for about 10 minutes.
Step 3
Coloring Buttercream (your favorite recipe or use our recipe how-to-make-buttercream-rich-and-tasty) *** This cake was filled and decorated with Italian buttercream.
Color 1: White. Fill piping bag with star tip (choose size)
Color 2: Light Green. Fill piping bag with star tip (choose size)
Color 3: Combine. Fill piping bag with star tip (choose size)
Step 4
Use a ruler or measuring tape to mark the distance between each rosettes depending on the size. Use can also use toothpicks as position holder.
Step 5
1) Pipe and cover the bottom row with green rosettes.
2) Pipe in between rosettes and cover the second row with light green rosettes.
3) Pipe in between rosettes and cover the third row with white rosettes.
4) Use the start tip to pipe a white border around the top of the cake.
Step 6
(Optional) Arrange your flowers. Use white buttercream to create a base and set your flowers.
Note: You can use other toppings or cover top of cake with buttercream or fruits.
